So how that works is this: we compare how the sounds of the exact same pitch are perceived in both ears by the ABLB. This is, of course, intended for loudness recruitment, which is characteristic of sensorineural hearing loss. In loudness recruitment, sounds go from soft to uncomfortably loud very quickly. ABLB will help in programming hearing aids and planning rehabilitation strategies.
